😁 Hey there, future retirees (and anyone else who dreams of escaping the 9-to-5 grind)!

Let's be honest, the word "retirement" often conjures up images of stuffy golf courses and endless daytime TV marathons. But what if I told you retirement could be the most exciting, fulfilling chapter of your life?

In this post, we're going to ditch the tired old retirement stereotypes and explore how to transform those work hours into hours spent doing what you love. Get ready to trade those spreadsheets for something a little more… you.

Let's. Fucking. Go.

Part 1: The Time Suck That Is Work

First, let's get real about how much of our lives we actually spend working. Spoiler alert: it's a lot. 🤯

  • United States: The average American spends 8.5 hours a day chained to their desk (or, let's be real, answering emails from the couch in their pajamas). That's almost 45 hours a week, not even counting the soul-crushing commute!

  • Europe: Our friends across the pond have it a bit better. In Germany, they clock out around 8 hours a day. Maybe it's time to brush up on that German? 🤔

  • Asia: Things get intense in places like Japan, where the workday can stretch to 9 hours or more. Add in a culture of overtime, and it's no wonder burnout is a major issue.

  • Africa: Workdays here vary wildly. Some folks work around 8 hours, while others in informal sectors might put in 10-12 hour days.

Taking these figures into account, think about how much of your precious time is sacrificed to a job.
